DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

Fred Roberts Jr., Esq. (Klein & Klein), agent for the owners SMA Healthcare has filed an application for a Special Use Permit for the operation of a residential rehab facility and supporting satellite parking facility. The Property Identification Numbers associated with the property are 8001-0247-01 and 8001-0252-01, and the street address is 3590 SW 137th Loop. The subject property’s future land use designation is Medium Residential. It is not within the Urban Growth Boundary (UGB) nor the Farmland Preservation Area (FPA). The property is in the Marion Oaks Urban Area and the Silver Springs Secondary Springs Protection Overlay Zone (SSPOZ).

 

Staff recommends Approval with Conditions due to the request being consistent with the Marion County Comprehensive Plan, compatible with the surrounding area, and will not adversely affect the public interest as specified in Section VI.B. of this Staff Report. Approval is subject to conditions recommended by staff to address compliance with the requirements in LDC Sections 2.8.2.D, 2.8.3.B, and 4.3.21.
