DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
On behalf of Marion County Municipal Services, Procurement advertised a solicitation seeking bids to provide roadway improvements within the Marion Oaks subdivision. The project involves resurfacing approximately 11.65 miles of minor local roadways in Marion Oaks Units 9, 10, and 12. The work includes roadway preparation, asphalt leveling, shoulder removal, temporary striping, permanent thermoplastic striping, and stabilization of all areas disturbed during construction. The existing roadways have deteriorated due to age and wear, resulting in numerous potholes and overgrown vegetation, making these improvements necessary to restore the roadway surfaces and enhance public safety. Four (4) submittals were received, which resulted in Procurement proceeding with a best and final offer between two (2) vendors. The bid tabulations are below:

Municipal Services Director, Chad Wicker, recommends awarding C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. as the lowest, most responsive, and responsible bidder. Attached for review is the draft contract. Following approval at today’s meeting, it will be sent to C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. for signatures, upon return it will be forwarded to Legal, the Clerk and Chairman for signatures.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
Neutral; expenditure of $1,654,141.70. Up to (10%) contingency will be added to the purchase order in accordance with the Procurement Manual. Funding is from Hl514541-563220 (Marion Oaks Road Improvement Fund).

Recommended action
Motion to approve the recommendation and allow staff to issue a contract, and upon approval by legal, authorize the Clerk and Chairman to execute the contract with C.W. Roberts Contracting Inc., under 26B-095.
