DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
The U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has offered Marion County Airport an Airport Infrastructure Grant (AIG) Agreement in the amount of $263,454 under Project No. 3-12-0147-012-2026. The grant will fund 95% of the eligible costs associated with the design of the Runway 5/23 pavement and lighting rehabilitation project, with the remaining 5% provided through state and local matching funds. The design is the first phase of the overall runway rehabilitation project identified in the Airport Capital Improvement Plan and is necessary to advance the project to construction. The Grant Agreement must be executed by the County's authorized representative and County Attorney no later than August 14, 2026. Attached for review is the Grant Agreement. Following Board approval, the agreement will be electronically routed for execution.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
Neutral; receipt of $263,454 in FAA grant funding. The required non-federal match will be funded through the existing Florida Department of Transportation grant and local matching funds in accordance with the approved project budget.

Motion to approve the Airport Infrastructure Grant Agreement between the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration and Marion County and authorize the Chairman and County Attorney to execute all documents necessary to accept the grant.
