DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
Additional funding is required in Utility Management (Cost Center 440) for Contract Services to support contract personnel filling vacant positions and increased invoice printing resulting from higher-than-anticipated customer growth. Additional funding is also needed for Postage and Freight due to postal rate increases and increased mailing volumes.
In Utilities Water System (Cost Center 442), additional funding is required for Fleet Repairs due to major vehicle and generator repairs; Equipment Repairs and Maintenance to address unplanned well replacements, flow meter repairs, and other critical maintenance needs; Gasoline, Oil, and Lubricants due to rising fuel costs; Operating Supplies because of inflation and increased chemical usage associated with higher water treatment plant flows; and Overtime to reduce the backlog of work orders.
In Utilities Wastewater System (Cost Center 445), additional funding is needed for Contract Services to meet additional per and polyfluoroalkyl substances testing requirements, laboratory testing, and biosolids disposal; Repairs and Maintenance of Buildings and Grounds for emergency lift station repairs; Fleet Repairs and Equipment Repairs and Maintenance due to inflation, emergency equipment failures, and additional pump and flow meter replacements; Gasoline, Oil, and Lubricants due to increased diesel fuel costs; Operating Supplies to support increased treatment chemical usage and higher material costs; and Overtime to maintain operations during staffing vacancies and reduce the backlog of work orders.
