DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
The Department is requesting a budget transfer from Improvements Other Than Buildings to Improvements - CIP for the Heagy Burry Boat Ramp project. During installation of the floating dock system, it was determined that the originally specified 6-inch wood pilings were not sufficient to meet the dock manufacturer's structural requirements and site-specific soil conditions at Orange Lake. The project was modified to utilize 10-inch steel pilings, which required additional engineering, design coordination, and construction services that were not included in the original contract. Additional funding is necessary to complete the dock installation and ensure the facility is constructed to the required safety and performance standards.
