DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
On February 7, 2023, the Board approved a contract for Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. (KHA) to evaluate and update the existing Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) for SW 38th/40th Street Phase A and SW 38th Street Phase B (from SW 80th Avenue to SW 43rd Court). After completion of the PER, on April 1, 2025, the Board approved an amendment to the contract for KHA to provide final design services for the project.
Additional surveying and mapping services are necessary to support final design and right-of-way acquisition for the SW 38th/40th Street Road Widening Project. The additional work includes supplemental field surveying and the preparation of a sketch and description packages needed to advance the project toward construction.
The Change Order and detailed proposal are attached for review. Upon approval at today’s meeting, the Change Order will be forwarded to the Chairman for signature.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
Neutral; additional expenditure of $116,110, bringing the total amount of the Purchase Order to $2,158,640. Funding comes from VJ738541-563220-STC073893 (Infrastructure Tax Transportation).
