DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
The purpose of this request is to allocate funds from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund to the MSTU budget to support donations to the Florida Sheriff’s Youth Association, Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranches, Boys and Girls Club, Marion County Children’s Alliance, Kimberly’s Center, and Project Hope.
In addition to the requested donations, I am also requesting to utilize funds from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund for the purchase of a Blockchain Forensics platform and advanced investigative workstations for my Cyber Crimes Unit. This equipment will help make the team more efficient.
Please see the attached letters from the Sheriff dated November 26, 2025.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
Increase MSTU for Law Enforcement appropriation by $175,000.
