DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

Marion County receives Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership, (HOME) American Rescue Plan Act, and Emergency Solutions Grant funds as an Entitlement County. Marion County formed a Consortium with the City of Ocala for the receipt of HOME funds, which Marion County is the lead agency. The City receives CDBG funds independently as an Entitlement City.

 

To receive the aforementioned grant funds the Board County Commissioners approved Marion County’s Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Five-Year Consolidated Plan 2019-2024, along with the associated Annual Action Plan(s) 2019-2020,2020-2021,2021-2022 and 2022-2023.

 

This public hearing will consider comments regarding a proposed substantial amendment to the HUD Five-Year Consolidated Plan 2019-2024 to allow for the Clearance and Demolition of blighted areas.  In addition, this public hearing will also consider comments for the development of the 2023-2024 Annual Action Plan.

 

Per the Citizen Participation Plan requirements and Resolution 19-R-024 required by the Department of HUD, a final public hearing for final public comment on the HUD Five-Year Consolidated Plan 2019-2024 and Annual Action Plan 2023-2024 will be requested for August 1, 2023.
