DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

Marion County Fire Rescue was awarded grant funding through the executed Federally Funded Subaward and Grant Agreement #R1144 between The Division of Emergency Management, Department of Homeland Security, and Marion County Fire Rescue, in the amount of $47,948. This contract was approved and executed by the Board of County Commissioners on the December 17, 2024 regular meeting (Agenda Item 7.3.1.). These funds are required to be expended by September 30, 2025 and are being recognized in the current fiscal year. $26,620 of the funding will be allocated for Machinery & Equipment, with the remaining amount in Operating Supplies to purchase state approved equipment for the team. 

 

BUDGET/IMPACT:

Increase Fire, Rescue and EMS Fund appropriation by $47,948.
