DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) requests approval of piggyback of Lake County Contract 23-716 Fire Hose Inspection, Ground Ladder Testing, and Related Services with Waterway of Central FL, LLC (Waterway) to perform testing of all Fire Hose & Ground Ladders at MCFR’s Logistics location.
MCFR’s current contract (Q24-019) expires October 31, 2026; this piggyback will ensure continuity of service and stabilize current pricing through January 31, 2028. Waterway has performed satisfactorily, received favorable evaluations, and both parties wish to proceed under the Lake County agreement. The Lake County contract has been reviewed by Procurement and meets competitive bidding requirements.
This item also requests authorization for renewal of the County’s piggyback agreement in accordance with Lake County Contract 23-716, Fire Hose Inspection, Ground Ladder Testing, and Related Services, without further Board approval, provided no other contract terms or conditions are modified.
Presented for review is the Solicitation Waiver and Lake County Contract 23-716 Fire Hose Inspection, Ground Ladder Testing, and Related Services. Upon approval at today’s meeting, the Solicitation Waiver will be presented to the Chairman for signature.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
Neutral; estimated annual expenditure of $55,000, subject to actual service needs and not to exceed approved budget amounts. Funds are available in Line EF300522-546301 (Fire Rescue and EMS Fund)
