DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
The East Central Florida Regional Planning Council (ECFRPC) is submitting a Community Planning Technical Assistance (CPTA) grant application to FloridaCommerce for the East Central Florida 2060 Plan (Strategic Regional Policy Plan) - Audit and Targeted Update project.
The proposed initiative will provide implementation-focused support to ensure the region’s Strategic Regional Policy Plan (SRPP), adopted in 2011, remains current, legally sufficient, and effective for regional coordination and local planning efforts. The project includes a review of the SRPP’s Goals, Objectives, and Policies, as well as supporting technical exhibits, to identify necessary updates related to housing, economic development, emergency preparedness, natural resources, and regional transportation.
The project will also produce audit and briefing materials, along with a revised draft SRPP update package, to support a coordinated review process and help prioritize targeted updates that strengthen regional consistency and implementation.
Attached is a letter of support from Marion County.
