DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
During the regularly scheduled Board meeting on October 6, 2026, the County Attorney’s office requested Board authorization to proceed with an administrative appeal of the United States Department of Agriculture/United States Forestry Service decision regarding Marion County’s Forest Tower Communication Site Lease. The Board directed staff to contact Marion County’s federal delegation in an effort to come to a resolution on the issue. Staff sent a letter to the federal delegation members alerting them to the issue and requesting assistance.
