DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
To better track Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects, there is a need to reallocate funds between various projects. Funding for the full rehabilitation of the CDH-002 facility and the Shores Offsite EQ Decommissioning project will be drawn from an existing project with surplus funds.
Additionally, available funds from a long-standing project open for more than five years will be transferred to a newly created project at the request of the Budgeting department. Similarly, funds from another aging project are being reallocated to a newly established project created for the same reason. These older projects will be closed once all associated purchase orders are completed.
Two new projects are being established: one for water main improvements along SR 301 and another for water main replacements on NE 24th Street. Both will be funded through reallocation from a previously existing project.
A new project is also being created for the relocation of the Salt Springs Water Treatment Plant. It will be funded through a combination of sources, including a project that is currently on hold, one nearing closure upon completion of outstanding purchase orders, another with limited remaining funds for toilet rebate programs, and a final project also set for closure upon purchase order completion.
This is a one-time funding reallocation request intended to support more effective project tracking and close out older or inactive projects.
