DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

On April 6, 2021, the Board approved a contract with Tetra Tech, Inc. to provide debris monitoring services that include debris collection, staging, and disposal during an emergency event recovery period. The work includes damage assessments, reporting, and monitoring of debris-related activities such as collection, transportation, staging, reduction, and final disposal in an effort to recover from an event. The firm has complied with the original agreement’s terms and conditions, which include the option to extend the contract for two, one (1) year renewals; pending mutual agreement. Office of the County Engineer Director, Steven Cohoon, recommends the first, one-year term renewal.

 

Attached for review is a draft of the contract. Pending approval at today’s meeting, it will be sent to Tetra Tech, Inc. for signatures and upon return, will be forwarded for the County Attorney, Clerk, and Chairman’s signatures.

 

BUDGET/IMPACT:

None; approval of this item carries no immediate budget impact; if/when services are required; actual costs will vary depending on the type of disaster and extent of damage that occurs in the County.

Recommended action

Motion to approve the renewal and allow staff to issue the contract and upon approval by Legal, authorize the Chairman and Clerk to execute the contract under 21P-061-CA-02.
