DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
This request is to increase the budgeted amount for Unclaimed Decedent from $46,000 to $90,000. The budgeted amount was 64 claims, but there have already been 50 cremations to date. The first four (4) to six (6) months averaged eight (8) to 10 claims per month and there was also a price increase for each claim from $720 to $900. This will most likely cause this account to exceed the budgeted amount for the fiscal year. Staff is requesting to reallocate $44,000 from the Hospital Care account as this is not expected to be expensed out.
