DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
Funds are needed to acquire 5.46 acres of adjacent property to resolve the issue of county groundwater monitoring wells that were inadvertently installed on privately owned land next to the Newton Recycling Center/Landfill, which is owned and operated by the County. This acquisition will ensure the wells are located on County property. This budget amendment will fund the purchase of the 5.46 acres as well as the associated ancillary costs, including the appraisal, boundary coordination, and survey services required to complete the acquisition.
