DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
On October 8, 2024, the Board approved for Marion County Fire Rescue to cover the cost for non-certified trainees to attend the Florida State College, which is partially owned by Marion Technical College (MTC), and includes both Fire and EMS classes. The trainees and current students will be hired and/or trained by Marion County Fire Rescue to fill open vacancies needed in the department. Change Order 1 is being presented today requesting approval to add $127,664.34 to cover the remaining semester of school for 30 students. 17 students will go through the EMT class at MTC and 13 students will go through the Fire semester and EMT semester at MTC.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
Neutral; additional cost of $127,664.34 bringing the purchase order total to $227,664.34.

Motion to approve, authorize the Chairman to execute, and allow staff to process Change Order 1 to Purchase Order 2500396 with Marion County School Board.
