DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

On August 6, 2025, the Board approved the FY 2025-26 Annual Action Plan for Community Services, which includes the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG). This Annual Action Plan aligns with the Fiscal Year 2024-28 Five-Year Consolidated Plan

Brother’s Keeper, a ministry of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, is requesting $77,028.45 through of the ESG grant. The funding will support emergency housing services for individuals and families at risk of homelessness. As a condition of the award, Brother’s Keeper will provide a dollar-for-dollar match, bringing additional resources to the effort. With these combined funds, the organization anticipates assisting approximately 90 families in need of stable housing.

Recommended action

Motion to approve and authorize the Chair and Clerk to execute all necessary documents associated with this Agreement with Catholic Charities of Central Florida, Inc. d/b/a Blessed Trinity Catholic Church Brother’s Keeper.
