DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

Marion County received a Grant from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) titled the Marion County Septic to Sewer Initiative LPA0113 that was Board approved on February 2, 2021. The Grant provides an opportunity for properties in the Silver Springs Primary Focus Area (PFA) to abandon existing septic systems and to connect to a central wastewater collection system. To administer the Grant, individual Commercial Septic to Sewer Initiative Agreements (Agreement) are required for the individual properties. This Agreement supports the wastewater connection for Trinity Baptist Church (Parcel Number 29680-000-00) and creates a commercial wastewater connection project. Included in the project is the required surveying, engineering, permitting, on-site plumbing costs, and off-site costs to connect to the centralized sewer, capital charges, and the abandonment of the existing septic tank. The Grant stipulates that all residential parcels will be funded one-hundred percent (100%) and all commercial parcels will be funded fifty-percent (50%).
