DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
Marion County receives federal grant funds through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME), and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) programs as an Entitlement County.
• Marion County partners with the City of Ocala in a HOME Consortium, where the County serves as the lead agency.
• The City of Ocala independently receives its own CDBG funds as an Entitlement City.
Each year, the County submits an Annual Action Plan to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The plan outlines how federal funds will support housing, community development, and homelessness services for low- to moderate-income residents.
This public hearing is the first of two held to gather input for the development of the FY 2025-2026 Annual Action Plan. A 30-day public comment period runs from July 6 to August 6, 2025. Anticipated FY 2025-2026 Allocation are:
• CDBG, $2,173,037.00
• HOME, $891,550.13
• ESG, $190,774.00
