DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
On September 7, 2022, the Board approved a contract with Liberty Tire Recycling, LLC. for the collection and disposal of waste tires at the Baseline Landfill. Liberty Tire Recycling, LLC. has performed the work in accordance with the agreement since it began, Marion County Solid Waste is proposing to renew the contract for the first of two (2) annual renewal options. Liberty Tire Recycling, LLC. has requested an increase of 3.4% disposal of waste tires to begin October 1, 2024.

Attached for review is a draft contract amendment. Pending approval at today’s meeting, a copy will be sent to Liberty Tire Recycling, LLC. for signature and upon return, will be routed for signatures by the County Attorney, Clerk and Chair.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
Neutral; estimated annual expenditure of $200,000. Annual cost will not exceed approved FY budget amounts without being brought back to the Board.

Motion to approve request and allow staff to issue, and upon approval from Legal, authorize the Clerk and Chair to execute the contract amendment with Liberty Tire Recycling, LLC. under 22B-192.
