DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

On February 18, 2025, the Board approved a contract with Daly & Zilch, Inc. for general improvements at Rotary Sportsplex Field including, but not limited to, tree removal, grading, utility and stormwater infrastructure, paving, landscaping, and other improvements in the conversion of two (2) natural fields to synthetic turf.

The prior 14 change orders for this project primarily addressed necessary adjustments to field conditions, scope, funding, and schedule to support operational requirements at the Rotary Sportsplex. These included utility modifications due to differing site conditions, fencing revisions (resulting in a net deduction), and various enhancements funded through available contingency, such as electrical improvements, signage, safety features, landscaping, and additional sod, as well as a funding source adjustment. Subsequent change orders also increased funding for installation of the Rotary Sportsplex entry sign as part of the sponsorship agreement between Marion County, AdventHealth, and the Tourist Development Council, reduced the contract amount following revisions to the approved landscape plans that decreased the required number of shade trees, and extended the contract time to allow for project completion.

Change Order 15 is being presented to increase funding to cover the cost of installing two 20-foot-long by 13-foot-high scoreboards at the Advent Fields within the Rotary Sportsplex.

The change order and detailed proposal are attached for review. Upon approval at today’s meeting, it will be presented to the Chairman for signature.

 

BUDGET/IMPACT:

Neutral; additional expenditure of $100,827.60, bringing the total amount of the Purchase Order to $2,222,117.34. Funding comes from:

Motion to approve the change order, allow staff to process, and authorize the Chairman and Clerk to execute Change Order 15 under 25B-009.
