DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
The border between Sumter County and Marion County lies along the centerline of the right-of-way for Sumter County Road (CR) 102, which is also known as Marion County SE 180th Street. Staff from both counties have drafted this agreement together to provide for clear and efficient maintenance responsibilities.
In summary, Sumter County agrees to be responsible for that portion of the road and road right-of-way between Sumter CR 103 and Sumter CR 101; and Marion County will do the same for that portion of the road and road right-of-way between Highway 301 and Sumter CR 103. Responsibilities include, but are not limited, right-of-way permitting; maintenance such as mowing, tree trimming, debris removal, asphalt repair, road repaving and reconstruction, traffic signage and striping; and addressing stormwater or drainage needs.
