DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
The current FY 2025-26 expenditure appropriation does not include the funds originally allocated in FY2024-25 for the Xybix workstation reconfiguration. The project could not be completed within the fiscal year due to Xybix’s last-minute changes to shipping and installation schedules, necessitating a reappropriation of the previously approved funding to complete the project.
The reappropriation will utilize funds originally budgeted in FY 2024-25 under Repairs and Maintenance and Operating Supplies. These funds will be carried forward into FY 2025-26 to support the completion of the Xybix console reconfiguration.
This reappropriation supports the completion of the Calltaking Dispatch Supervisor’s console reconfiguration, designed to improve supervisory oversight and operational efficiency during the Communications Center’s peak hours (12:00 PM-12:00 AM). The project will enhance real-time management of calltaking operations, strengthen workflow coordination, and improve overall service delivery within Public Safety Communications.
This is a non-recurring request. The reconfiguration is a one-time project intended to enhance supervisory span of control and workstation functionality. No additional funding will be required once the installation is complete.

Increase General Fund appropriation by $28,298.
