DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
Marion County administers State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) funding to benefit low to moderate income households. On January 21, 2025, the Board approved an Agreement with Marion County and Ms. Jacobs in the amount of $150,000 to replace Ms. Jacobs’ home under SHIP.
On April 1, 2025, the Board approved Ms. Jacobs’ First Amendment to enable the County to pay off the first mortgage to move the project forward without delay.
On June 17, 2025, the Board approved Ms. Jacobs’ Second Amendment to provide the opportunity to order and purchase the manufactured home.
This Third Amendment provides the homeowner flexibility to apply insurance proceeds and charitable donations toward project expenses. The County’s remaining SHIP funds, capped at $26,663.27, will be used to pay for licensed contractors or vendors for the manufactured home setup and related work necessary to obtain a Certificate of Occupancy. Any costs beyond this amount are the sole responsibility of the homeowner.
