DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
Marion County has been using Samsara GPS since October 2021 through Sourcewell cooperative purchasing contracts.
On behalf of Fleet Management, Procurement Services requests Board ratification of a purchase card (P-Card) procurement from Samsara, Inc. in the amount of $56,705.40 for annual GPS and fleet telematics services supporting eleven County departments. This procurement includes licensing for 211 vehicle gateway/GPS units, 20 forward-facing dash cameras, and five powered asset trackers, providing vehicle and equipment location tracking, speed, fleet activity visibility, certain vehicle anomalies and video documentation to support operational oversight, driver safety, and incident review.
The Departments that are utilizing these GPS units are Building, Transportation, Utilities, Animal Services, Growth services, Code enforcement, Solid Waste, Public safety, Facilities, Fire Rescue and Parks.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
Neutral; total expenditure of $56,705.40, allocated among participating County departments based on their respective Samsara equipment and licensing usage. Funding is provided through the applicable departmental accounts as detailed in the attached funding breakdown.
