DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
The Marion County Parks & Recreation Department is requesting approval to transfer available funding from Other Salaries and Wages to Overtime. Additional overtime funding is necessary due to operational, and staffing demands that exceeded projections when the budget was developed. Seasonal staffing vacancies have required existing staff to work additional hours to maintain facilities and athletic fields and provide adequate coverage for tournaments and other operational needs. These demands were further increased by preparations for Marion County’s America 250 activities and the expanded staffing and maintenance needs at Belleview Sportsplex resulting from an increase in sports tournaments.
