Parks & Recreation
DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
The Southeastern Livestock Pavilion is requesting funding for the purchase of new livestock panels to replace existing panels that have reached the end of their service life. The current panels are heavily corroded, warped, and require frequent welding and maintenance to remain functional, posing potential safety and efficiency concerns during event setup and livestock handling. These panels are essential to daily arena operations and event safety, providing secure containment and flexibility for a wide variety of agricultural shows and community events. The replacement panels were not included in the FY 2025-26 adopted budget because the extent of deterioration was not fully known until recent maintenance evaluations. This purchase will reduce ongoing repair costs, improve operational safety, and enhance the facility’s ability to accommodate high-volume livestock events without interruption.
