DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
On July 15, 2025, the Marion County Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved a contract with the Florida Department of Children and Families to distribute state and federal homelessness assistance funds through the Ocala/Marion Joint Office on Homelessness Continuum of Care FL-514. Funding sources include Challenge Grants, Emergency Solutions Grants, and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Grants.
On October 21, 2025, the Board approved an initial agreement with Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) for the administration of Challenge Grant funding in the amount of $150,000, to support housing coordinator/navigation services for families by bringing new landlords and property organizations online.
This First Amendment decreases the grant amount by $46,210, resulting in a revised total award of $103,790. LSF will not use all originally awarded dollars, therefore the agreement is being reduced, and remaining dollars will be reallocated.
