DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
The Board of County Commissioners provided approval to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office to apply for funding under the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Funding will be used for the purchase of handguns for the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and operating expenses for the Marion County Public School Police Department.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
Grant revenue of $41,997. (No local match required)
