DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
This amendment will provide funding for a new position that will be jointly funded by two departments. The shared funding approach ensures efficient use of existing resources without requiring new appropriations. Court Innovations has maintained a consistent funding surplus over multiple fiscal years while still generating enough to fund 60% of this position. The Law Library will fund 40%, which is made possible through the reallocation of funds previously dedicated to copy machine rental contracts.
This funding will support a Staff Assistant IV position. The Law Library is experiencing an increase in usage by the public and additional support is needed to meet that demand. Additionally, the position will assist the Staff Attorneys with administrative responsibilities, which will allow them to focus more of their time on higher level tasks as we prepare for an increase in workload with the creation of new judgeships.
