DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
On April 1, 2025, the Board approved a contract with Extreme Enterprises of Marion County, Inc., for combined roadside, slope, and finish mowing services, including litter pickup and removal from these areas.
This amendment updates the contract to:
• Remove the retainage requirement.
• Revise mowing cycle dates.
• Update service quantities (roadway miles).
• Add a fuel price adjustment provision.
The fuel adjustment will:
• Establish March 2025 as the baseline fuel price using the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Fuel and Bituminous Average Price Index.
• Allow contract pricing to increase or decrease when the current fuel price varies by more than five percent (5%) from the March 2025 baseline.
Attached for review is a draft of the contract. Following approval at today’s meeting, it will be sent to Extreme Enterprises of Marion County, Inc. for signatures and upon return, will be forwarded to Legal, the Clerk, and Chairman for signatures.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
Neutral; annual estimated expenditure of $1,359,783 may increase or decrease depending on fuel pricing each cycle. Funding comes from BL400541-534101 (County Transpiration Maintenance Fund) and ZA425534-534101 (Solid Waste Disposal Fund).
