DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

During the October 15, 2024 Board of County Commissioner’s Planning and Zoning Meeting, the Board considered a Special Use Permit application for an animal sanctuary.  The Board discussed a possible moratorium on kennels. The County Attorney’s Office needs further direction from the Board regarding the moratorium before completing the amendments to the Animal Control Ordinance.  In light of the need for direction, the County Attorney’s office requests the Public Hearing for the Animal Control ordinance be held on December 3, 2024.
