DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
On behalf of Marion County Utilities (MCU), Procurement advertised a bid to replace approximately 160 linear feet (LF) of 6-inch asbestos cement (AC) water main with PVC & HDEP pipe, crossing under State Road 19 between Salt Springs Recreational Area and the Salt Springs Mobile Home Village. The water main is the sole transmission/distribution water main from the Salt Springs Water Treatment Plant. Four (4) Contractors submitted bids and Utilities Director, Jody Kirkman, recommends awarding the contract to Southern Times Service, LLC., based on the tabulation below:

Neutral; the project’s cost is $86,608.72, and up to ten percent (10%) contingency may be added per the Procurement Manual. Funds available in line ZF448536-563102 (Marion County Utilities Fund), Project Code UTC000116
