DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
On behalf of the Office of the County Engineer, Procurement advertised a bid for repair for the NE 148th Terrace Bridge. The work includes temporary traffic control and detour, excavation and embankment work, restoration of damaged bridge elements, localized deck and surface repairs, and milling and resurfacing of existing pavement. A total of three (3) submittals were received in response to the solicitation, and the bid tabulation is provided below:

Steven Cohoon, PE, County Engineer, recommends that Commercial Industrial Corporation receive the award as the lowest, most responsive, and most responsible bidder.
Attached for review is a draft of the contract. Upon approval at today’s meeting, it will be sent to Commercial Industrial Corporation for signatures, and upon return, will be forwarded to the Clerk and Chairman for signatures.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
Neutral; expenditure of $337,359.00. Up to ten percent (10%) contingency will be added to the purchase order in accordance with the Procurement Manual. Funding is from BM761541-563221-TIP071764 (County Engineer 80% Gas Tax).

Recommended action
Motion to approve the recommendation and allow staff to issue a contract, and upon approval by Legal, authorize the Clerk and Chairman to execute the contract with Commercial Industrial Corporation under 26B-080.
