DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
In accordance with Land Development Code section 6.14.2, developers (property owners) are required to connect to public utilities if the property is within connection distance. For a single-family residence, the connection distance is 400 feet from the parcel’s closest corner to the public water main. In this case, the property owner is required to connect to the public water main provided by Marion County Utilities (MCU) and is required to install 84 feet of water main across the parcel’s frontage to the end of the property. The water main extension will serve the property owner’s parcel and create a benefit for one (1) additional parcel along the route of the water main extension. Total project cost is derived from the construction cost of $14,572, plus design fee of $700, totaling $15,272. The benefitting parcel cost will be $7,636.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
Neutral; project cost is $15,272 and construction purchase order includes 10% contingency in accordance with the Procurement Manual. Funding is from ZF448536-563102 with project code UTC000094.

Motion to approve and authorize the Chair and Clerk to execute the subject Water Main Extension Connection Agreement and authorize staff to issue the purchase order for T&C Underground under 22P-146.
