DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
Marion County supports the United Way of Marion County’s appropriations request related to funding 2-1-1 services. In a twelve-month period, 2-1-1 services received over 29,000 calls ranging from shelter & housing, utility assistance, access to food, mental health services, volunteer tax assistance and information regarding children’s services. 211 is also designed to support Marion County Emergency Management with non-emergency calls in order to increase efficiency for 911 and the Citizen’s Information line.
