DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
On behalf of Facilities Management, Procurement advertised a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the Animal Services New Facility Construction Manager at Risk project. The services provided will apply to both preconstruction and construction phases of the project. Construction Manager services include: working with the county and the Architect during programming and conceptual design, schematic design, and design development. Services also include, construction documents, bidding (subcontract), construction, close-out and warranty.
Three submittals were received, evaluated, and scored by Selection Committee members Jared Goodspeed, Jared Peltz, and Kyra Lynch. Phase II Interviews/Presentations were held with all firms ranking D.E. Scorpio Corporation dba Scorpio (Scorpio) as the highest scoring firm, shown below. Scorpio is currently under contract as a rotating Construction Manager for the county and are based out of Alachua County and currently has an office in Ocala.

Pending approval today and with support from Facilities Management Director, Jared Goodspeed, the negotiations team will begin working with Scorpio to reach a final proposal; upon completion of a final proposal, it will be brought back to the Board for approval.
