DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
Marion County Utilities (MCU) currently has an Engineering Manager and two (2) Engineer positions that have been vacant for between 9 months and 21 months, with no qualified applicants to date to fill these openings. These vacancies have created a backlog of water and wastewater design work. In order to complete this design work, there is a need to outsource to contracted vendors. This request is to move funds from salaries to professional services. Should MCU be unable to hire qualified candidates prior to the end of the fiscal year, an additional budget amendment may be necessary.
