DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

At its September 15, 2020 meeting, the Board approved contracts with eight (8) underground contractors to perform various projects involving underground utility work. All contractors were proposed a scope of work to construct approximately 480 LF of twelve inch (12”) water main to support Marion County Utilities’ (MCU) designed plan set 20-SA-24-S to serve Parcel Number 8006-0729-02 for Nova Ocala Real Estate, LLC, including Right-of Way permit acquisition and the removal of approximately 130 LF of fourteen inch (14”) pipe. Three (3) contractors responded and Environmental Services Director, Jody Kirkman, recommends awarding the project to GWP Construction, Inc. (GWP) based on the tabulation below:

BUDGET/IMPACT:

Neutral; total expenditure for this project is $78,552. Up to ten percent (10%) contingency may be added to the Purchase Order, as allowed for in the County’s Procurement Ordinance.
