DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
The Public Hearing is required to consider adoption of resolutions authorizing use of the Uniform Method of Collecting Non-Ad Valorem Assessments to be placed on the tax bills of property owners owning property within the affected areas. Section 197.3632, Florida Statutes, requires that the local government publish a notice of its intent to use the uniform method of collecting such assessment weekly in a newspaper of general circulation within each county contained in the boundaries of the local government for four (4) consecutive weeks preceding the hearing. The following are proposed improvement areas and proposed and existing municipal service benefit units in which the Board proposes to levy special assessments to be collected utilizing the uniform method for the levy, collection, and enforcement of non-ad valorem assessments as described in Section 197.3632, Florida Statutes, pending approval from the Board at a final Public Hearing.
