DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
The Marion County Community Redevelopment Agency (Agency) is classified as a dependent special district pursuant to Chapter 189, Florida Statutes (F.S.). Section 189.0694, F.S., requires each special district to establish goals and objectives for programs and activities undertaken by the district, as well as performance measures and standards to determine if the district’s goals and objectives are being achieved. The goals and objectives are established and approved on an annual basis.
Staff has proposed attached goals and objectives with performance measures and standards for Fiscal Year 2026-2027 for Agency consideration and approval. The goals and objectives include complying with and further increasing public outreach to the community, seeking to increase grant program awards and consideration to revise and/or increase grant award programs, and addressing capital improvements to implement community enhancing safety, pedestrian, and gateway provisions, along with addressing anticipated conveyances of Marion County owned properties to the Agency.
The proposed Goals and Objectives are attached for Agency Board review and consideration. Staff recommend approval of the Goals and Objectives, as may be revised by may be revised by the Agency.
