DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
Steven French retired from the Marion County Office of the County Engineer in 2023 after nine (9) years of service. Mr. French was rehired on May 4, 2026 as an Engineering Construction Inspector with the Marion County Office of the County Engineer.
Pursuant to Section 9.4, Retirement, of the Marion County Board of County Commissioners Employee Handbook, any employee who has formally retired from the Florida Retirement System must receive Board approval prior to reemployment. Mr. French has been cleared by the Florida Retirement System, and this request is being presented in accordance with the handbook requirements to approve his reemployment as an Engineering Construction Inspector with the Marion County Office of the County Engineer.
