Title

Body

INITIATOR:

DEPARTMENT:

Michael L. Savage, Sr., Building Safety Director

Development Review Committee

DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

The Land Development Code (LDC) states new development in the Urban or Rural area shall connect to a centralized water system with available capacity if a water line is within a connection distance of 400 feet times the total number of equivalent residential connections (ERCs).

The Owner/Applicant, Joan White-Wagoner, requests a waiver due to Parcel ID number 15396-000-02 which is north of the Owner/Applicants parcel, was granted a water connection waiver by the Board on December 7, 2021, Agenda Item Number 15.1.2.  Owner/Applicant states as a result, their parcel's extension obligation is now 560 feet instead of its 170-foot frontage, putting applicant’s estimated obligation to the closest water connection at approximately $56,000 which is cost prohibitive to build a single-family residence on this parcel. Applicant instead requests to install a well onsite.

The subject property is located in the northeast portion of the County on approximately 2.31 acres.

This waiver request was denied by the Development Review Committee (DRC) on June 10, 2024.

BUDGET/IMPACT:

None

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
