DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
This is a request to approve a Purchase Agreement in the amount of $3,000, plus closing costs for a portion of Parcel 35512-001-02 associated with the SW 49th/40th Avenue Phase 1 road improvement project, between SW 66th Street and SW 42nd Street. This is a vacant lot and it is necessary to acquire 0.018 acres or 800 square feet as a right-of-way taking, 0.007 acres or 303 square feet for a drainage easement, 0.005 acres or 200 square feet for an additional drainage easement and 0.028 acres or 1,204 square feet for a temporary construction easement. The lot is located on the south side of SW 66th Street, just east of the project’s intersection with SW 66th Street, and is necessary for the intersection improvements.
This is for a one-third interest in the parcel (a future agenda item is expected for the remaining two-thirds interest). The negotiated agreement is inclusive of any and all costs associated with this transaction. There are cost savings recognized in this negotiation by avoiding additional costs that occur during condemnation proceedings.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
Neutral; expenditure of $3,000, plus closing costs (STC073804 CIP TRANSP NEWINF ROW - 738 - VJ738541-561301).
