DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
On April 6, 2021, the Board approved contracts with six (6) Construction Managers (CM), allowing the County to select a CM based on expertise, capacity and availability.
On behalf of Facilities Management, Procurement requests approval of Task Order 56 - Marion County Jail Chiller Addition with Ausley Construction Company LLC. Presented today is a request to approve a purchase order in the amount of $64,998.22 for Phase I of the project. This phase includes the mechanical and electrical engineering design services necessary to develop construction documents for the chiller addition, as well as engineering support services during the subsequent construction phase.
Approval of this task order will allow the design phase to proceed in preparation for Phase II, which consists of construction of the additional chiller. The Marion County Jail is a critical facility, and the existing chiller system does not have sufficient redundancy to ensure uninterrupted operation in the event of a failure. The addition of a third chiller will improve system reliability, increase operational resilience, and help ensure continuous climate control for the facility.
A copy of Ausley Construction Company LLC’s proposal is attached for review and upon approval will become part of the project file and supporting documentation to the purchase order.
BUDGET/IMPACT:
Neutral; expenditure of $64,998.22 Funding is available in VJ735523-562102 (Infrastructure Surtax Capital Project Fund)
