DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is acquiring right-of-way (ROW) for the construction of a new Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) at I-75 and NW 49th Street in Marion County. The project is part of the statewide Moving Florida Forward initiative, which aims to improve traffic flow, enhance safety, and support long-term regional mobility and economic development.

 

Marion County owned parcels 13539-002-00 and 13689-002-00, collectively identified by FDOT as Parcel 106, are located within the planned project footprint and have been identified as necessary for the completion of the interchange.

 

BUDGET/IMPACT:

Revenue - $6,471,700 - Infrastructure Surtax (Sales Tax) Fund, object 364022 - Sale of Surplus Land

Recommended action

Motion to approve the Purchase Agreement, Addendum to Purchase Agreement, and County Deed and authorize Chairman and Clerk to execute the same.
