DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
Amelia Schmeltz is the third female Eagle Scout from Troop 9692 and the fourth for Marion County. Troop 9692 also had the first and second female Eagle Scouts for the county.
Amelia’s project consisted of an Orienteering Course at Sholom Park.
Orienteering is a navigation sport using a detailed topographic map and compass to find checkpoints (controls) in unfamiliar terrain, often as a race. It boosts both physical fitness and mental navigation skills.
