DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
Increased construction activity in Marion County, coupled with the implementation of the new Education Impact Fee, has resulted in increased utilization of our personnel and material resources. To address these growing demands, we request additional funding to support:
Overtime: An additional $67,365 (overtime and associated benefits) is needed for permitting and inspectors to handle the increased workload.
Contract Services: $34,000 is necessary to cover contract services, including opening a new purchase order for advanced staffing. This will allow us to recruit and onboard both full-time inspectors and temporary staff to meet our staffing needs.
Vehicle Maintenance: A budget amendment of $25,000 is required to cover unforeseen maintenance costs and ensure our vehicles remain operational for the rest of FY 2023-24.
Vehicle Parts: An additional $5,000 is requested for the parts account to address anticipated vehicle part needs throughout the remainder of FY 2023-24.
By providing these additional resources, we can effectively manage the surge in construction activity and ensure continued service delivery.
