DESCRIPTION/BACKGROUND:
Marion County and the Town of Reddick (Reddick) entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on June 6, 2023, for the development and limited management of Reddick Park, which was subsequently amended on November 2, 2023, to revise certain responsibilities related to the development, maintenance and management of the park. Under the amended MOU, Reddick provides annual funding to the County in lieu of performing park maintenance functions, with the annual contribution currently established at no less than $13,500.
The proposed second amendment further clarifies the annual maintenance funding, invoicing and payment process between the parties. The County will provide Reddick with an annual statement on October 1 identifying the applicable maintenance amount and any available advance payment balance. The amendment also allows Reddick to make advance payments toward future annual maintenance obligations.
Reddick has identified $45,000 in available funding that it intends to provide to the County as advanced payment. These funds will be applied as credit toward Reddick's annual maintenance obligations until they are fully exhausted. Approval of the second amendment will formalize these provisions and provide a clear process for administering Reddick’s annual maintenance funding for Reddick Park.
